[Alex's image pops up onto the screen, looking bright eyed and rather bushy tailed, his hair pulled back into a rough pony-tail.]

Good morning, ladies and gentlemen and everyone else in between. To those I've already met - 'hi' [He waves pleasantly.] and to those I haven't met yet .. I'm Alex. I'm from California, which is on Earth .. my version of Earth anyway .. and the year was 2011 when I was brought here.

Now that the whole spider thing is behind us I feel like I can do this without having anyone looking at me like I've lost my mind, I'm going to.

I've been working with Joe in the kitchens and by myself over in the clothier .. and well .. I'm bored, at least in the clothier. Not too much is coming in to be repaired and I really love sewing.

[He gives a slight shrug, but is still smiling. Does this ~~girl~~ guy ever NOT smile?]

So, I guess what I need from y'all is maybe stuff you're missing? Or stuff you'd like .. I know this place is pretty old fashioned, clothing wise, but I love to sew and if there is cloth I can work, I'm willing to make anything you might be in need of.

Same goes with me being in the kitchens .. I've grown up cooking, so if there's something you miss from home, just lemme know, or swing by .. You can pretty much always find me around here somewhere.

Sooo .. yeah! Just lemme know!

... What can you sew?

[Alex smiles brightly as Nieta's voice pipes up in reply.]

What you interested in? I've been sewing for years and was starting an amateur line of clothing when I came here.

[Alex is up and ready for a challenge!!!]

You seem rather pleased with your current imprisonment.

... Fashion? What was the year?

Bonjour Alex. May I ask, what do you cook?

[Can he cook fish? Nick's only ever had fish once in his life.]

[Alex purses his lips and considers how to answer.]

I'm from the year 2011, but I'm comfortable sewing from nearly any major point in history. I was in charge of costuming plays in highschool and have a rather huge love of historical clothing. If you want 2011 currents, I can do that; shorts, shirts and the like. No gromets, no boning .. just cloth and easy breathing.

If you'd prefer some fashion of tunics, breaches or gowns, I can do that, too. If there are the proper materials, I'm comfortable making corsets and such .. If it's something I'm unfamiliar with, just give me amgood idea of what you'd like and I will make something you love.

[Confident? Quite so!]

[Alex cants a brow, lips quirkiness slightly in bemusement.]

I think I've taken to being a guest at the Keep far better than many others have. I don't see any point in making my life, or the lives of those here, any more difficult then they have already been made. If I can bring a bit of peace or happiness to someone by making them a meal or some bit of clothing, then I'll do so quite happily.

[Alex looks quite pleased to see Nick's response amongst those he's getting. He knows his friend is having a rather tough times with things and wants to help however he can.

His expression softens, smile easy and he moves his hair absently from his face.]

What you interested in, Nick? I can't see you for a terribly vegetarian individual ..

[His tone is teasing, but light and gentle.]

Ah, I am afraid where I am from, food other than vegetables are rare, hm?

I have had...fish once. It was terribly expensive.

[But sooooo goooood.]

Dress it up, or care for others however you like, but you aren't a guest. None of us are.

[The unfamiliar word here, is an honorific gender neutral word, which doesn't translate readily at all.]

To'mo, if you would like any help at all, I can sew fairly well and would be glad of being of assistance.

[They must have been doing a good impression of two ships passing in the night in the clothier tower!]

No! I don't want corsets and dresses. I can't wear them while I work with the dogs. And I don't like bodices either...

[... This is awkward.]

Can you make undergarments?

[First and foremost, Alex notices the difference in the two responses. How can one miss that seal at the bottom of the page. He frowns a bit, but after wheat realizes why it was used the then figures out the how. Nieta had sealed the page in her journal, effectively making the conversation private between he and she. Innnnteresting! Alex is nothing if not anquick learner and after finding appropriate was, his own reply is properly sealed.

And reading what she's saying, it's really no surprise that she'd prefer the message sealed.]

I can. I would need you to come by so I can get your measurements, but it's more than doable.

[He offers her a supportive smile.]

For what it's worth, Nieta, I more than understand how clothes can make certain some hinge not only uncomfortable, but nearly impossible. Corsets can look awfully pretty, but they do tend to make everyday life just a bit harder. And God forbid you should actually need to breathe while wearing one.

[And ironically enough, he was currently wearing a light dress with a corset bodice. Yeah, he feels you!]

[Anders, you'd be a good deal more attractive if you would stop all that scowling. He offers a slight smile and half shrug, not caring to argue how Anders sees things.]

It may be that you are correct and I'll not argue your right to think whatever you want. I just aim to make the best of my time here, since it looks like we're not going anywhere for a time.

[Alex's eyes widen just a touch at this information, whistling softly as he exhales. He knew that Nick was a different kind of shifter in comparison to himself, but even so.. The wereleopard couldn't imagine not having meat readily available; especially right after a full moon. Vegetables, though tasty, were by no means a meal unto themselves..not in Alex's eyes.

His face brightens again as Nick voices a specific desire, lips curling into a smile.

I've cooked fish before, yes. If here are none stocked in the cooler, they must be available at the lake and we can fish for them. The fresher the better in the long run!

[Alex smiles at the text message as it scrolls across the page.]

I'm uncertain what To'mo means, but I would love company. Things like sewing seem more enjoyable when you can chatter at someone else while doing so.

[A brief pause while he tries to identify the neat scrawl, gong so far as to flip through a few pages in his own journal.]

It's Isabella, right? We met at the lovely Rapunzel's hair braiding get together?

I have never been fishing before. How does it work?

[He would like to go!]

[Oh come on. He works that tortured revolutionary look. Feathers and all.]

Well. There's a first. Someone outside of Varric not willing to argue with me. You're a rare individual.

[Alex's lips quirk a bit at this and he gives a slight shrug.]

You've a valid point and I'll not say otherwise. I've yet to see anything that makes me doubt what we've been told, but I'll agree that there is always the chance of it. It would be rather hazardous to not be of the mind that something could happen .. Particularly if you talk to some of the lot that have been brought here.

[He eyes the man respectfully, head tilting slightly to one side.]

[Alex can hear that excited smile in your voice, Nick! It's infectious and a bright smile curls the were-leopard's lips as he explains.]

You typically use a rod of some fashion .. or, in easier terms .. a stick with thin line attached. One end attached to the stick, the other attached to a hook of some manner. You can use bait to attract the fish and when they're eating the bait off the hook, you snag them and reel 'em in!

I like fishing in my furry form too .. a whole different experience that way.

What better way of keeping your captives tractable than by telling them there's nothing outside of their prison?

[Well, she seems to have broken the translating text. Huh. Peculiar!]

I think it confused the translator. To'mo is similar to sir, or lady but the honorable title of neither, or both. It does not have an equivalent meaning in Common.

And it would be of an absolute pleasure to keep you company!

[And company in any sense of the word was a rare and exciting treat for this bird.]

Aye to both! You were the gracious one that spoke welcome to the ones arriving, yes? When would you like to meet?

[Alex nods his head in ascent to this first bit.]

For what it's worth, I would be interested in knowing what, if anything, is beyond the walls ..

There are a few that have come from someplace named the Elegante .. I haven't heard or read much, but they seem to have had more than their fair share of problems before coming here.

[Alex listens and smiles slightly at the description of the word.]

I see .. Though I appreciate the sentiment, just Alex is fine .. Sir or Lord or any of that makes me feel either too old or too stuffy.

[He's grinning though, amusement clear on his features.]

Yes to that! Better to be polite when meeting new company, yes? Never know what action or inaction might come back to haunt you, so I try to approach all with an air of politeness and decorum.

Annnnnd .. I'm open whenever you are. Now or later, it's all lovely to me and a pleasure to have your company.
